Two of the many things I loved about Kenya and Tanzania were the Acacia trees and the color of the savanna grass. What made each more beautiful was that they were usually together, adding to the beauty of one another. This image was taken on the Masai Mara. It was #1241 of the second day of our three week trip in Africa (I reset the camera to #1 at the start of the trip). There was something very peaceful about the tall grasses swaying with the wind and the vast open space we were surrounded by. It really was the most wonderful trip.
The photo was taken with a Canon EOS 40D, EF70-200mm f/4L IS lens +1.4x Tele-extender, 1/250 sec at f/10, ISO 200 on SanDisk Extreme IV Digital Film.

Simple and stark;beautiful.
Thanks Laurie.
You’ve captured nature’s sculptures beautifully. And the vastness and openness of the savannah that took my breath away. I’d go back to Kenya again and again if I could, and your photos help me “revisit.”
Thank you. I wish we could go back someday.
Beautiful; simple is best…..life too 🙂
Thanks Lee…
