We’re down in the desert visiting Cherise, Brian, Jake and Luke for Grandparents’ Day at their school. Afterwards, we took the boys out to lunch, then to the Golden Spoon for frozen yogurt.

This is the Purple-Striped Jellyfish at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This jellyfish lives off the Monterey coast of California and swims with flowing gracefulness. As beautiful as it is, its marginal tentacles do offer humans a painful sting. They grow to about 2.5 feet in diameter. To see the other Jellyfish images I’ve posted, click here.

The Majesty of the Moon Jellyfish

The Monn Jelly is a very regal appearing sea creature.

I found another shot I liked from the Monterey Bay Aquarium of the Moon Jellyfish. I have to say I’m fascinated by them and as I finished working on this photo and was looking for a title, I just appreciated how majestic or regal they appeared swimming together. If you want to see the other jellyfish photos I’ve published here, go to the Select Category drop-down menu on the upper part of the right column and choose “Jellyfish”.

Weston Beach Rocks

At low tide, these rocks and tide pools are exposed along the shore at Weston Beach.

The first location we hiked to on our last Point Lobos visit was alongside Weston Beach. The rocks there are smooth as the waves polish them. This photo was done at low tide and it exposed these beautiful rocks with their deep grooves, carved by the sea, which had become tide pools for many small sea creatures.

Operate your Camera from Your iPhone

Yesterday I came across this great new product in development. It is called Trigger-Happy and it’s a remote control for your DSLR camera. They are developing it for IOS and Android devices. It consists of the TriggerHappy App and the TriggerHappy cable to attach between your device and your camera (with adapters for most brands of DSLR cameras).

Some of the App’s features include:

  • Simple camera trigger
  • Bulb functionality for long exposures
  • Time-lapse mode (intervalometer)
  • HDR mode
  • Bramping (Bulb Ramping) for time-lapses from day to night, etc.

The developers are conducting a project to raise enough capital to go into production. When available, it will sell for $69. But if you pledge $50 to purchase it, and they get enough pledges totaling $25,000, you will be buying it for that $50. I was very impressed and signed up to be a backer because this looks like a great product that would save me a lot time, especially with HDR photography.
