Auntie Uta’s 90th Birthday

Marty CohenUncategorized2 Comments

On June 7, 2014 our family held a 90th birthday party in Apple Valley, CA for Cathleen’s Auntie Uta. She is an amazing woman whose heart is filled with so much love that there is more than enough to give to all her family and friends. To honor her birthday, family and friends traveled from a number of areas of this country and from as far away as Brazil to Apple Valley. If you would like to see my photographs from the party, click on the image below and you will be taken to the first page of the photo gallery. Please be patient if the pages load somewhat slowly as this depends on your internet connection’s speed. After the pages load, scroll down to see the gallery of images.

This is inside the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. The interior of this mosque was very beautiful. I wish we had be able to take more time to explore and admire its beauty.

Screaming Baboon in Amboseli, Kenya

This was one unhappy baboon as we drove by him while in Kenya. They can be pretty mean and dangerous animals.

A Sunny Day in Big Sur

A Sunny Day in Big Sur

[wpb_linebreak height=”24″]About two weeks ago we had a beautifully sunny day and we took a drive down the coast to Big Sur. Usually, sunny, mid-day photography is pretty harsh light for photography. But I couldn’t help loving the beautiful, iridescent blue color of the ocean that day and wanted to share it with you. I had to fight off a very strong wind while hand-holding the camera for this shot.

The First Lavender – 2014

The First Lavender

The first Lavender to bloom – 2014, Carmel Valley Ranch

At Carmel Valley Ranch, there are fields of Lavender alongside the roads. At the top of a hill near us is a beautiful, small field of Lavender. We walk by it every day while walking our dog Lulu. About 10 days ago, the Lavender bushes, neatly pruned for winter, began to grow long stems with buds. Then, a few days ago, we noticed there was only one stem that had bloomed amongst the thousands that surrounded it. Out came my trusty iPhone and here is the result.
